The Social Vulnerability Index , developed by the CDC , the level of support a neighborhood needs during times of crisis. It uses both demographic data and information about resources in a neighborhood to determine the level of vulnerability.
The index is divided into four areas:
- Socioeconomic status
- Household composition & disability
- People of color & language
- Housing type & transportation
