Neighborhood Vulnerability

The Social Vulnerability Index, developed by the CDC, measures the level of support a neighborhood needs during times of crisis.

The Social Vulnerability Index , developed by the CDC ,  the level of support a neighborhood needs during times of crisis. It uses both demographic data and information about resources in a neighborhood to determine the level of vulnerability.

The index is divided into four areas:

  • Socioeconomic status
  • Household composition & disability
  • People of color & language
  • Housing type & transportation
